My students need a projector and wireless adapter to connect to a document reader in order to display instructional material.

My Students

Our class received an amazing document camera from donors to aide instruction and learning. Unfortunately, our excitement lasted only a day when the projector broke, leaving us in the dark with limited multimedia instruction.

I have 25 wonderful and active kindergartners who love to learn and are curious about everything and anything!

I teach a whole day kinder class and my students are 4, 5, and 6 years old varying in educational background from no preschool experience to transitional kindergarten. Our school is highly academic-based, even in kinder!

My Project

Kindergarten is a fun age with many engaging activities that are tied to academic subjects. I alternate instruction between the rug and desk to vary teaching modality. While at the desk, I project instructional materials for students to view on the screen, making it easy for students to follow along, from workbook practice to painting lessons. In addition, I can connect my laptop to the projector through a wireless adapter to display media material such as PowerPoint presentations and video clips. The kids loved it as it engaged them in discussions of the subject matter and sparked their interest to start an inquiry. Unfortunately, the lack of a projector has made this type of learning impossible for the children. We have no television or DVD player, and the projector was a gateway to displaying various media from my laptop.

With this projector and adapter, we will be able to integrate technology in all subject matters that will enhance our learning for many years to come.
