Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year I got the opportunity to work with a great group of 4th graders. They are very creative and have a huge imagination.
All my students come from low-income households and distance learning has made it very difficult to demonstrate that fun and creative imagination they usually demonstrate in class.
Despite moving on to distance learning my students are eager learners. Many continue working very hard to stay engaged and participate despite their hardship, challenges of distance learning and limited resources available.
My Project
My 4th grade students have done a great job adapting to the difficulty of distance learning within a limited time frame. However, with distance learning comes many issues. Whether it’s strong Internet connection for videos, the technology itself, technology support at home and/or managing the digital platform and resources.
This project will give me a reliable high end printer where I can print resources and assignments for students to work at home.
This high end printer provides high volume printing that will allow me to reach many students during distance learning. I feel this will give an alternative option for students that prefer paper assignments.
Once we return to school this printer will become our classroom printer where it will easily connect to our class computers. This will enable all my students to print and publish their writing, print resources, print research.
