A color printer will allow me to print core boards, communication books, and topic boards in color to help facilitate language skills for my non-verbal and minimally verbal students. A core board is a set of highly useful single words that can be used alone or in combination to communicate for a range of purposes on countless topics with a wide variety of communication partners. Core words have color-coded borders to help students understand the function of words. For example, subjects' borders are red, verbs are green borders, question words are orange, adjectives are blue, objects are yellow, and adverbs are black. Thus being able to print these materials in color is key to their effectiveness. A color printer will help bring my projects to life.
