Teaching low level readers in a high need school is full of challenges. Creating a space where students feel comfortable and encouraged to reach their full potential is paramount for continued success teaching reading and writing skills. Unfortunately, our school's budget does not leave much room for creating this workspace for our young readers. One area where our classroom is in severe need is our lending library. Each classroom is allotted one small bookcase and while we use this to the best of our ability, the fact of the matter is that our classroom library has outgrown the shelves we use to store it. This is an exciting problem to have, as parents and faculty have donated many exciting new novels and magazines to our classroom... but the fact of the matter is that we are quickly running out of space to store these great materials. We're asking for a new bookshelf, similar to the one already in our classroom so that we can expand the breadth of our lending library even more. By housing our books in an attractive and easily accessible setting, our readers will be encouraged to explore the many books we have and hopefully grow as readers and learners. We're also asking for ten magazine organizers to give our newly expanding magazine collection a home. Your funds will make a real difference in the lives of emerging readers! Thank you for considering our proposal.
