This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach an amazing group of students in a special education classroom. Each of my students has unique learning needs and thrives in an environment that is structured, consistent, and engaging. We focus on building independence, academic skills, and confidence every single day. In our classroom, organization is key. We use a variety of hands-on materials, differentiated curriculum, and visual supports to meet the diverse needs of our learners. However, keeping these materials easily accessible and sorted has become a challenge.
This project will fund a set of durable, clearly labeled storage bins to help us organize everything from math manipulatives to leveled reading materials.
These bins will allow me to prepare individualized lessons more efficiently and help students access materials more independently.
By having a well-organized system, we’ll be able to spend less time searching for what we need and more time focused on instruction and learning. It will also help reduce student anxiety by creating a predictable and clutter-free environment.
