My Students

Our classroom is full of eager 3rd graders who are ready to learn. We are a part of a pretty large elementary school in a small, rural town near the coast where almost all are on free lunch. A lot of my students don't have opportunities outside of our small town. My goal is to provide my students with meaningful life experiences while we learn together.

Fostering community and teamwork among my little learners is very important.

Many of our students don't live in traditional homes and they need to feel stability at school. We work hard to build a community that supports all learners in our classroom.

My Project

My students are active, eager eight and nine year olds. They have lots of energy and for many, moving is necessary to stay engaged. We would love to have wiggle stools as a seating option in our classroom.

These stools will allow them to "wiggle it, just a little bit" while staying focused and learning at the same time.

Many students are kinesthetic learners and these stools provide the movement and stability they need to get the wiggles out in a productive way. I know they would be very beneficial to so many students in our classroom and in years to come.
