it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are incredible learners with unique needs, and they deserve a classroom environment that supports their growth, comfort, and confidence. This year, we’re moving into a new classroom — but the space has no windows, no natural light, and little of the calming atmosphere that helps students with learning disabilities thrive. That’s why we’re asking for your support in transforming this room into a warm, inviting, and sensory-friendly space where students can feel safe, focused, and excited to learn.
We are requesting cozy string lights and light covers to create gentle, calming lighting that reduces sensory overload.
A wobble stool will provide flexible seating and help students stay engaged through movement, while interactive reading games will make literacy learning fun and accessible. These items may seem small, but together they will help us build a space that feels more like a home — a place where every student feels seen, supported, and capable of success.
