Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember what it was like when you were in school? Do you remember what supplies you were required to have in class? The families in my classroom struggle to purchase most of the required materials needed for success in the classroom. All of the extra special supplies get purchased by me.
I am about to start my 7th year as a kindergarten teacher at my school in a general education classroom at a low-income school in New York.
They are a great group of kids who are extremely inquisitive and want to learn more. We spend most of our day on our rug either playing games, reading, or learning.
My Project
No school year is as important as kindergarten! This is the year that will shape a child's attitude about school and about learning. Making it the most positive and nurturing experience is a way to insure that these children will continue to love learning and strive to do their best in school. I have requested laminating sheets to help me create math and literacy games that will last.
My goal as a teacher is to make learning fun and enjoyable.
I want to instill a love for learning by creating games that touch the interests of my students. I also would love to have materials that will last the whole year and for years to come.
