My Students
My students are lacking basic classroom supplies that will help them to be successful learners!
I have 28 eager Title I kindergarten students.
Our school has a 96% poverty rate. My students are more worried about getting their next meal, in turn, buying classroom supplies is not part of the family budget. The students are willing and excited to learn but need appropriate tools!
My Project
Kindergarten is a time for fun learning! My students need dry erase markers to complete learning assignments and games without using another another material in short supply, paper! The students feel more creative while writing on whiteboards with dry erase markers and are less worried about making mistakes because they can be wiped away in a second!
While spending time with my students in small groups I use glue to enhance their learning of a classroom topic by making creative responses rather than pencil/paper assignments. This deepens their understanding and makes them more excited to learn!
My students have to worry at home about having enough - I do not want them to worry when they are with me.
