Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Are you ready friends?" This exclamation can be heard during our morning meeting routine as some of the children ask their classmates if they are ready to sing our songs about the days of the week and the months of the year. This excitement about learning continues throughout the day in our room.

Our students are in a high needs environment and they come to school each day filled with excitement to learn new things!

Many of our students who come into kindergarten have zero to little letter and number recognition. As kindergartners in an ICT (integrated co-teaching) setting, which creates an inclusive environment for students with and without disabilities, it is extremely important for each and every child to master letters and numbers in the beginning of the year in order for them to progress and start off on the right path in their educational careers!

My Project

My students are turning into readers! Each day we practice telling stories over and over again and make them into "Old Favorites" that we can read on our own! Unfortunately, our book supply is few and far between.

We need multiple copies of each of these books so that we can all have a chance to practice reading our favorite stories over and over again!

With your generous donations, we will be able to spice up our readers workshop with even more books for our kids to fall in love with. Creating this love of reading (and learning) is necessary for jump starting their educational careers!
