This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My kindergarteners are curious, active, and eager to learn and share. Our school serves a large population of low-income students on free or reduced price. For a majority of my students, kindergarten is their very first experience in a school setting. Organizations like DonorsChoose are a unique way for us to seek the funding we need to make the most of this experience! My goal is to create a positive environment for them that fosters a love of learning. Being their first experience in a full day school setting, I feel that the positive impact I make will encourage them to become life long learners.
My students come from unique households and have a variety of abilities, interests, and learning styles.
They are scientists, explorers, authors, assistants, editors, tech managers, and mathematicians. I love learning from their background experiences!
My Project
This is the first year of school for many of my Kindergarteners. Some of my students have never taken a photo and had it printed. Kindergarten is the year where they are inspired to become lifelong learners by participating in many of our classroom and school activities. I want to document, through photos, the memories we create in Kindergarten and give my students these photos so that they can have something tangible to help them remember these kindergarten memories.
Pictures are the best way to capture a child's vision, feelings or mood!
I would like to have a photo printer to be able to print pictures for my students. I believe photos are a lasting memory and with all the new budget cuts I have not been able to print pictures for my students to take home. I do not like to pick and choose which photos should be kept for their memories. Last year, I was able to print their pictures out in black and white to be taken home. I love to incorporate their photos into projects or even just to show parents what their child can do. Please help my class obtain a photo printer so I can help print lasting memories for them.
