This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are full of energy and eager to learn especially at the beginning of the school year. They walk in each day with bright smiles on their faces inquiring about what they're going to learn that day. Unfortunately, my students come to school lacking many of the supplies necessary in order to be successful. They're growing up in the poorest congressional district in the country. Many of them have not traveled very far outside of their neighborhood to see just how amazing New York City is. This is why I need your help to provide my students with all of the materials and experiences they will need to be successful and stay motivated this year. My goal is to make learning so fun that they realize the value of education and that it can take them anywhere.
My Project
These materials will allow my students to show off their creativity. In 6th grade, they will be learning about ancient civilizations. There's so much to learn and so many ways for students to show what they've learned, so what's better than making a beautiful project!
Help my students get excited about traveling back in time to study and report on the Egyptian pyramids, the Roman Colosseum, Ancient China's Terracotta Soldiers and so many other wonders of the Ancient world!
Markers, crayons, glue, and paper will help set my students up to show everything they've learned. Students will be able to make an Ancient Times newspaper where they'll be reporting on events as though they were living in during these ancient civilizations, they'll be making foldables and posters of all of the information they've learned through each unit!
