Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach a wonderful group of second graders at a Title I school in South Central Los Angeles. They are kind, creative, and full of potential, showing up eager to learn even when we don’t always have all the supplies we need.

That is why I created this DonorsChoose project to provide them with the resources they deserve and invite others to be part of their learning journey.

When something is missing, I often purchase it myself and I would do it again a hundred times over because nothing matters more to me than my students feeling confident and prepared to succeed. The supplies might seem small or general but to my students and I, they mean everything. They help build confidence, independence, and the tools they need to thrive.

This project will provide whiteboards and dry-erase markers for real-time engagement in math and writing; pencils, scissors, and folders to help students complete their work and stay organized; headphones to support focus during reading and digital activities; and student mailboxes and pouches to foster ownership of their learning space.
