Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year I have the privilege of working with 17 students. My students are bright, intelligent, and curious about the world around them.

While this year has been another big challenge, still not entirely at normalcy levels due to the pandemic, every day, my students are eager to learn and have so many questions about the world around them.

Every morning my students just put a smile on my face. They are awesome!

My Project

With a new classroom comes new challenges and empty cabinets to fill with learning material. With some help, I have managed to get a few manipulatives and learning material for my classroom, but we're still missing lots.

Manipulatives like fake money, handheld clocks, stem bins, pan scales, and magnets give students insight and let them connect to the real world and why it is so important to know their functions and uses.

To name a few, we need money manipulatives to have a tactile and visual representation of money and how to count it. We also need clocks, not only for their function but to calculate elapsed time. In science, stem bins will help stimulate thinking and engineering ideas.

All these tools will come on handy as the students are exposed and learn new objectives. I am so eager and looking forward to being able to incorporate these tools in everyday learning.
