This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school lacks the neccesary resources to make reading fun and meaningful.

Many parents in the community lack the knowledge to foster the love for reading at home, therefore my goal is to open the minds of all my students by exposing them to variety of reading materials.

My Project

It is wonderful to see the excitement in my students' faces when we receive a shipment from Scholastic. It is that same excitement that I hope to have all year long with the high-interest news magazines in my project. By receiving these bi-weekly Scholastic magazines, my students will be able to work in small groups to read and discuss a variety of non-fiction topics.

My students have a high interest for the visual stories that the Scholastic magazines present.

The science, history, and math stories will enagage my studenst to learn and read about real-life situations. My students' lives with benefit by reading and learning about a variety of topics beyond their textbooks.
