This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My goal has been to provide support to my students and families during this difficult time. It has not been easy, but my students and their families have been doing their best to continue learning from home. Everyday we review letters, read stories, sing our favorite songs, and count with the students who can join our Google Meet. Even though it is not our classroom and typical learning environment, I believe it has helped to provide some normalcy. I hope to be able to provide additional resources and tools needed to continue learning at home.

My Project

I am asking for dry erase boards, letter magnets, and flashcards for my students, so they can work on their early literacy skills. Students can use the dry erase boards to practice writing their names, letters, and sight words. The letter magnets and flashcards will help them recognize their letters, sounds, and first sound fluency.

During this time, we are working with our students and families to ensure they have the resources to help their children learn at home.

Our class logs on every day for one hour to learn and participate in activities. I want to provide other tools for students to use at home so they can continue working on their literacy skills and be prepared for kindergarten.
