My Students

What's more exciting then reading? Reading a book that can interact back with you, my student would say. My students love reading and cannot wait to read new books as they come into the classroom. Now I want to make reading much more fun by incorporating a Leap Frog Reading Center in my classroom.

My students are bright and intelligent.

They are always looking for a challenge. I have student readers on who are on multiple levels, high, low and in between. But they all have one thing in common. They are all eager to learn. My students (although they are not always given the opportunity like those of students who attend higher income school), never let challenges hold them back. My students attend a low income school in NYC but you can always find them in a book. I want to help support and nurture their love of reading.

My Project

Having a Leap Frog Reading Center in my classroom provides a lot of opportunities for my class. One way this reading center would help my classroom is by providing technology and placing it in my students hands for them to use. Secondly, this reading center would provide independent activities for my early finishers to do while I help the struggling readers and writers. Thirdly, the center would provide extra support for the readers that are having trouble grasping the words that are on the page, like my ELLS (English Language Learners) and my students who are delayed through no fault of their own.

By donating to this project, you will help to provide endless possibilities for my students.

Not only are you helping to introduce them into the technological age, but you are providing for them resources that will help with their success. My students want to take that LEAP for success. In a school where technology is not always available for the younger children, I would like to make that possible. Won't you help them take that LEAP?
