it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Do you remember what it was like when you were in school? Do you remember what supplies you were required to have in class? The families in my classroom struggle to purchase most of the required materials needed for success in the classroom.
I am an elementary school kindergarten teacher in a high needs school in New York.
I am finishing up my 11th h year as a kindergarten teacher at my school in an ICT classroom. Although kindergarteners are fun and love to come to school and learn, kindergarten means lots of germs. My classroom is in desperate need of basic cleaning supplies to help us stay healthy.
No school year is as important as kindergarten! This is the year that will shape a child's attitude about school and about learning. Making it the most positive and nurturing experience is a way to insure that these children will continue to love learning and strive to do their best in school. I have requested multiple containers of Clorox wipes, Lysol spray, tissues and hand soap to help keep the germs away and help my students stay healthy throughout the school year.
My project is so important to me because kindergarten education has become heavily focused on teaching literacy and other academic skills, but without basic school supplies this task is very difficult.
It is important to stay healthy and with these materials I can help prevent my students from getting sick and missing valuable learning time.
