I teach 9th through 12th grade at a high school in Florida. I am grateful to be able to teach a Shakespeare elective to a group of students who are intelligent, creative, and always up for a challenge. These students are 10th-12th graders who have previously been exposed to Shakespeare in the 9th grade curriculum. They have elected to take Shakespeare as a course, and we are unfortunately not given funds to cover copies of the plays for each of them.
My Project
Each day in class, we will be reading and completing activities pertaining to Shakespeare's Macbeth and The Taming of the Shrew.
Specifically, students will act out portions of each play and keep an interactive notebook where they will complete daily assignments pertaining to each text.
They will also compare the texts to modern day equivalents, enabling them to make relevant connections from Shakespeare's plays to today's world.
Students will read and comprehend the text much easier with the No Fear Shakespeare version which will allow them to dig deeper into the themes and concepts of Shakespeare. We would be extremely grateful if you considered helping!
