My students need brooms and dustpans for our classrooms. The brooms that we did have were broken and used for blocks on our windows to stop people from breaking in over the summer break.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are from a low-income area that has a great community with lots of support. They work hard for themselves and for their families. Many live in situations where they are in one home with over 4 families living together, yet they come to school every day ready to learn and grow.
Our school does as much as it can to help and assist the families of our students and we strive to make a better future for them to live in.
My Project
Our school doesn't have brooms and dust pans for all of our classrooms. We had a few that were so old they broke when he tried to use them, and the others were broken to make blocks on our windows to stop people from breaking in during summer break.
Our students have pride in their school and want to be able to keep it clean, but without the materials, many students have been using their hands as makeshift brooms and dust pans.
We want our students to be able to have pride in our school and be able to have the tools to keep it their own.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
