Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These DK Eyewitness books are sooo appealing to many of my students, but our "current" set has books over 30 years old! (Our current version of the Fossil book is from 1989. . .that might BE a fossil! :) Our current version of the Volcanos and Earthquakes book is from 1992. . .think of what all is missing both from more recent events as well as scientific discoveries about the related impacts.) Though my students may come from economically disadvantaged circumstances and many are English learners, they still have that amazing childhood curiosity about the world around them! Help me make sure they are absorbing the most updated information!
This update will ensure greater access to accurate and diverse information in a more modern format and will enable recycling of some battered, much-loved, out-of-date versions.
