This year, I teach a class of 24 ICT (Integrated Co-Teaching) First graders. Forty percent of my class is special education and sixty percent is general education. My school is in a changing neighborhood in New York City. My students have many different learning and management needs in order to ensure a successful educational endeavor.
My students are intelligent and eager to learn.
I am trying to pass on my love for reading to this class, but, as a result of low reading levels and a few interesting books, this has been very challenging. I am trying to create a collaborative classroom that adheres to all of the varied interests of my students.
My Project
Have you ever tried to think in the steaming heat? It is nearly impossible! Now, try to do that in a room with 24 little bodies. Our classroom doesn't have an air conditioner and with the days getting hotter, we are finding it harder and harder to think.
Please help us keep our cool by providing us with portable air conditioner!
