My Project

My students are very active kids, and they play hard at recess. When they return to class, I’d love to offer them cooler, air-conditioned air, if possible.

I’ve worked more than a dozen years here in West Hawaii, and it’s always been a challlenge to keep kids motivated during the hotter months (especially these past two years!) Air conditioning in our room would help tremendously.

Ou students are mostly from lower socio-economic backgrounds; the majority rely on school meals for their main source of nutrition. They also generally do not have air conditioning at home. That is why it is imperative that we have a cool, comfortable climate for them at school.

Also, research clearly shows students perform better when they are in a comfortable, climate controlled classroom.
