My students need weighted neck bands for sensory input to help keep them focused when we are working in whole group activities.

My Students
Our program serves children who are identified as at risk and children with identified disabilities or delays. My classroom currently is a mixture of children who are 3 and 4 years old. I have a very diverse group of students in my room - socioeconomically, ethnicity, English Language Learners and ability level.
For most of my students, this is the first time they are away from home for an extended time each day.
I pride myself in creating a safe and comfortable environment for my little ones to grow and bloom.
I believe very strongly that play is the way the children in my classroom learn best. I also strongly believe that early intervention is the key to success for the children in my classroom. We spend the vast majority of our day exploring and playing. Of my 15 students, 11 are expected to move on to kindergarten in the fall.
My Project
Since this is the first week of school I am just getting to know my new friends. I am so excited to kick of the school year right and I want to make sure I have everything I need to help them be successful.
I have some students in my room who have a lot of sensory input needs.
We know that in order for some children to be able to focus and attend to the task at hand they may need to use weighted blankets or weighted items draped around their shoulders. That is where the Soothing Snakes from SensaCalm come in. They will be used to wrap around the kiddos' shoulders to provide some heavy pressure and that helps them focus during whole group activities.
More than half of students from low‑income households
