Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come in every day eager to learn. Early on, we set high standards and my students work diligently to meet them. We strive to find new ways to make these high expectations fun and help each other along our journey.
My students enter from many different home situations to work together as a family in our classroom.
Many of my students are lacking some of the things needed to fulfill their basic needs. School is a place where they can come for safety, stability, and a sense that they can achieve anything.
My Project
We are in need of headphones to use in our everyday learning. Every day our students utilize iPads to hear their letters, sounds, sight words, numbers, and more! The more inexpensive headphones have not been able to withstand everyday Kindergarten use.
These headphones will allow them to access learning that they are not able to read on their own yet.
Being able to hear their learning allows our class to continue learning even during independent learning times. While the teacher is working with small groups, the other students can still practice things that they are not able to figure out on their own without being able to hear the model.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
