My Project
The use of Chromebooks is almost a daily activity in my classroom. Our curriculum has a digital component that the students follow their specialized learning plan to help them succeed. After the class lesson, my students work on their learning path to reinforce, reteach, or provide enrichment during center time, independent work time, or study time. The use of the Chromebooks as a supplement allows me to see exactly what/ how they are doing so I can work them them in their area of struggle. What becomes a problem is the fact that most of my students do not have working headphones, and therefore struggle to hear the lessons on the Chromebook when necessary. Students who don't have headphones need to play the lessons with a low enough volume so they can hear the interactive lesson, but this often is distracting to all in the room. Our school is located in a low-socioeconomic area, so many families lack the ability to provide their children with these kinds of materials. My district does not provide any headphones for the students. By having working headphones, students will be able to hear lessons without distraction and focus on increasing their learning!
