My Project
So much has changed in the world in such a short period of time. A few things that have not changed are: (1) teenagers are still trying to figure out who they are, (2) cultivating their confidence is essential to their intellectual development, and (3) poor hygiene can hinder their intellectual and social development.
Providing my students with basic hygiene products will positively impact their lives and help them develop into productive citizens.
For reasons I don't fully understand, many students seem to trust me more than any other adult in their lives. This sometimes results in their revealing all sorts of things that are going on in their personal lives and in their minds. Maintaining proper hygiene is a common concern.
Having basic hygiene products available ( deodorant, toothpaste, mouthwash)would help some to go more confidently into this world and potentiate higher levels of attainment. Also, now that the Covid-19 pandemic has subsided, we are no longer supplied with hand sanitizer. Last year I spent more of my own money on hand sanitizer than I care to think about.
