My Project
Our students come primarily from low income families. Most families do not have the opportunity to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables and do not have access to grow their own. We would like to use the rain barrels, garden tools, and other resources to teach our students how rewarding it is to plant, nurture, and reap the benefits of having a garden. We will primarily grow vegetables that our students will be able to take home to their families. Our students will have an elective class that will teach them how to maintain a sustainable garden area. This will be a year round project.
