My Students
The students at our school are amazing! They arrive excited to learn and become involved in whatever topic that is in the plan. We have wonderful support from our parents. We have a very diverse population of students, culturally, economically, and with different learning abilities. It has become my goal to try and stay ahead of them!
Many of our students have very high abilities and talents in a variety of areas.
These students are a part of an after-school program for the gifted and talented. It's quite a challenge to keep them challenged! This is an amazing group of students that become very involved in whatever project I give them. I love that they are willing to try anything!
My Project
Our Gifted and Talented Students (GATE) are expanding their world, and working on helping others in the process.
Hydroponics gardening is a wonderful way to start!
Our students will be learning not only the basics of growing food from organic seed to plant and what plants need to grow (with added nutrients), but they will be able to explore the concept of water-gardening. They will assemble the system, including the light, to prep for planting.
As an extra bonus, whatever the students grow will be eaten by the students in our school! This project will not only give our students the opportunity to follow directions in assembling the system and doing research about plant growth, but using their produce to help feed others.
