This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am currently working on acquiring a classroom library as well as some games and manipulatives that will help make learning Phonics and Math a fun part of the day for my students. Although I have some books for the classroom library at the moment, I am looking to expand on what we have by adding leveled books, early chapter books, and young reader classics. This will provide a wide range of books for a variety of reading levels and interests for my students. Having a varied classroom library will provide hours of student learning! My students this year have been eager to show me how well they read, I want to provide them with the opportunity to practice their reading skills in a welcoming environment that has what they need to not only develop their reading skills, but learn to love reading as I do. I believe that a classroom library will inspire them to look to reading as one of their favorite pass-times! The games and manipulatives will provide engaging literacy and Math center experiences while games will provide the opportunity for a much deserved brain breaks, AND Social Emotional learning!
