Help me give my students the supplies they need to learn about how to grow their own food! We really need soil and pots to start seeds for their school garden.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
By donating to this project you will be providing much needed materials to educate students about gardening and the importance of growing fresh delicious food. Teaching students about their connections to the land and food system, helps them to make more nourishing food choices. The goal of our program is to teach through hands on learning opportunities how to grow fresh fruits and vegetables so that we can instill lifelong healthy decision making. We provide opportunities for garden education to students who would not otherwise have the ability to learn about this topic at outside of school.
The Farm to School initiatives play a crucial role in teaching students about the origins of their food and the process it undergoes before reaching their plates.
We want our lessons to spark curiosity and enthusiasm for fresh produce and sustainable agriculture. Activities like planting school gardens and conducting taste tests demonstrate the power of experiential learning, allowing students to actively engage with the food production process and develop a deeper appreciation for nutritious foods.
