This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Classrooms are a place where daily learning takes place. Field trips provide special learning experiences that children will cherish for years to come.
My students live in a high poverty area in Northern California.
They attend a school that receives 100% free lunch. This means that I do not ask my students families for donations for field trips and school supplies. I have curious energetic 1st graders who love coming to school each day.
My Project
This field trip will help some of the science curriculum come to life for my students. They will get a chance to learn about the world they live in beyond the pages of a textbook. They will get a chance to look at live wildlife and authentic looking replicas.
The budget for field trips is extremely low in my district.
My students will not be able to go to such a terrific place for a field trip without donations from generous donors. Please help my students have the same experiences as those who live in wealthier areas.
