My Students

I have the pleasure of teaching at one of the largest, and diverse high schools in Mississippi. We are located in the upper north part of Mississippi, minutes away from Memphis. My students aren't afraid to be themselves, something I admire them for.

My choirs have a large spectrum of personalities, backgrounds, and walks of life.

Music is what brings us together. I am happy that my classroom is where young people can put their differences aside and come together for a common goal, which is to make beautiful music.

My Project

The Bluff City Choral Festival is an awesome and unique festival for students and teachers to become better musicians.

This festival is like no other festival and I would love for my students to experience it.

Typically at festivals, choirs sing for judges and receive written comments to help improve the performance. At the Bluff City Choral Festival, we can perform for the judges and they will work with us directly. This makes comments more valuable and the singers take more from the experience. After singing, we would spend a few hours on team building games. This is very important in groups like choirs. Finally, we would participate in some sort of community service activity. Please help provide this experience for my students!
