This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember the first time that you had to take a state test? My students will be taking the 3rd grade New York State Test this year for the first time.
My students are in the third grade in an inner city school in New York City.
Most of the children either come from shelters or single parent homes. While faced with very hard times at home and in their neighborhoods, my students come to school everyday eager to learn.
My Project
These test prep materials will help me teach skills and strategies needed in order to succeed on these tests. Since it will be the first time that the children take a state test, they need to have a lot of opportunity to practice the skills taught. These books will also be sent home for homework practice so that their parents can work with them as well.
Your donation will help my students practice and give them confidence in test taking.
It will also be an opportunity for my students to work together and help each other. These books will have a lasting positive effect on my students.
