Help me give my students skills and books to keep them fresh over the summer so they don't have the "summer slide". We want our students ready for 1st grade!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are an amazing bunch of students. They will grow so much this school year. We will learn our letters and sounds, how to add and subtract and so much more. This class is an ICT class which includes special education students and general education students. Our class has blended together so well and they have formed wonderful friendships! Our students have the best attitude about learning and are always eager to do so! They love school! Most of these students have attended pre-k virtually during a pandemic and are now attending in person blended learning.
My Project
These skill books will help our students be ready for first grade. During the summer many students experience a "summer slide" and lose some skills. These books would help prevent that.
The fun reading books will help our students practice their sight words and sounding out.
We want to encourage a love for reading in our students. These books are the perfect level for all of our students!
These items will be used at home over the summer to help all of them practice reading and to be ready for first grade!
