My Students
Having the right tools to do a job is important. Please help me supply my students with the 'write' tools.
I have the privilege of working with 24 wonderful kindergarten students.
They attend a large, rural elementary school which houses Pre-k through fifth grade. They are from a low-income area but come to school each day excited and eager to learn new things.
My Project
My students need pencils, crayons, erasers, and paper to begin the new school year with appropriate school supplies. "I don't have crayons!" This is something I often hear at the beginning of a new school year. My students come from low-income families who often cannot afford even the simplest of school supplies. The new pencils and erasers will allow my students to practice their writing skills and the crayons will allow them to illustrate and color their drawings.
Having a new box of crayons, a new pencil with eraser, and a pencil box to house all of these materials will bring my students' self-esteem up as they begin a new school year.
By having better self-esteem my students will begin to discover the excitement of learning. Please help me to give my students this boost to their self esteem!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
