My Students

Florence, MS. A small town on the outskirts of Jackson, MS. This is my second year at this school. Yes ma'am, no ma'am, please, and thank you are high priority in conversation with my kids. I am so impressed with their level of respect.

Some of the best kids you will ever meet come from Florence, MS.

Now this town is best known for its exceptional soccer, baseball, and football city rec leagues. So I would like to build up a quality PE program where all kids can thrive. I plan to do so by adding as many new units as possible. My kids are eager to participate and love activities.

My Project

Having yoga mats would greatly increase our options for floor based lessons and exercises. Sometimes the only place we can exercise is in the foyer of the gym. As you can imagine the floors are hard. This really limits what kind of floor exercises my students can safely participate in.

If our classes had access to yoga mats we could participate in yoga, pilates, stretching, body weight exercises, and a number of other activities.

Not only is it uncomfortable to complete floor exercises but it can also be dangerous on younger students who are still learning how to do basic exercises.
