Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The student population at my school is 95% Hispanic, 3% African American, 1% Caucasian, and 1% Asian. Over 80% of the students in my room are learning English as a second language. I see about a thousand students every week, from kindergarten to grade five.
My school is located in one of the poorest areas of the state, and our families are plagued by poverty and high unemployment rates.
All of the students receive free or reduced lunch, and some of them even go home without food on the weekends.
My Project
We are asking for a wireless speaker that will allow us to stream music throughout our very busy day. This new wireless speaker will allow me to stream music throughout my classroom to inspire my students to learn and get up and be active with this speaker. My students love finding inspiration in music, and this would be a seamless and easy way to manage and set up my classroom. This speaker will allow students to be able to be inspired, get healthy, and stay active while creating original works of art. Oh, did I forget to mention that it will get us up and moving?
