This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from families who are hoping to see their children be the first to graduate from college. As the head of student support, I am charged with the task of ensuring ALL of our students have a chance at college success.
As more of our classrooms incorporate "flipped" or "blended" learning models, I can see teachers and students without easy access to computers falling behind.
When all of the math teachers in our school took on the challenge of engaging their students through Kahn Academy's Learnstorm, we found that students dived right in. We won 42 new Chromebooks, and we can't wait to start using them!
My Project
The 42 laptops in this proposal will be available for teachers to check out to increase personalized learning opportunities for students in class.
The majority of our students' work is completed on GoogleDocs, so the Chromebooks will be ideal tools for students to write their essays, labs, artist statements, college essays, reflections, and review peer/teacher feedback. However, we can't start using them until they get set up with the licenses!

In the current educational environment, students with access to technology have greater access to online resources, applications, tools, and success. My hope is to make these resources available to our most needy students by having computers available when they need them. Thank you for your support!
