I am an elementary speech-language pathologist. My caseload consists of preschool students who have articulation IEPs, two cross-categorical special education classrooms containing up to 26 students, and several K-5 general education students who receive speech and language services.
My students are diverse learners who come from a variety of backgrounds.
We work together in small and whole groups to build the very speech and language skills needed to be successful in school and beyond.
Many of my students have additional needs, such as attention deficit, sensory-based needs, and autism. My hope for my students is that when they leave me, they are able to successfully and confidently communicate with others in and outside of the school environment. With these additional resources, I believe the communication skills of my students will continue to grow.
My Project
For more than a year, my students have primarily completed speech and language services and activities digitally or over Zoom. While we are so lucky to live in a time that we were able to still connect while we were far apart, I look forward to being back together in person.
When we return in person this fall, I would love the opportunity to provide fresh new hands-on activities to my students.
With the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card, I can provide printed materials to each student for speech time work and home practice.
I have also requested additional language activities and games to motivate my students to apply their new skills. These activities target vocabulary and related concepts in a fun way.
Laminated pouches, velcro dots, and cardstock can make some of these TPT printables last for years. Additionally, I can create one of a kind interactive visuals and schedules for my students who require them.
