My students need our first harp to enrich the sound and texture of the orchestra.

My Students

My students come from various backgrounds, cultures, and countries. Some of the students from other countries came to America within the last year and are still learning our culture, language, and our school environments. Most of them are new to music, but still share an interest in learning how to play instruments and are starting to figure out how music can play a very important role in their lives and positively impact their academic performance in other subjects.

Our program is slowly growing as interest gains in the program, but the need for instruments for the students who cannot afford still continues.

My Project

Orchestra is unfortunately on the decline in many public and charter school systems even though the art form is still very prevalent around the world.

Having our first orchestral harp will give the students the opportunity to develop skills highly needed in the professional musical environment.

Harp students will learn ensemble skills, solo pieces, accompaniment pieces, and excerpts necessary for college auditions.

Our students in the 21st century are more driven than ever, and have a great capacity to learn new things quickly if they really enjoy it, and the harp is a very unique and exciting instrument to play!
