My Students

Each year we have more and more students who have families struggling to make it and who often have to move in with relatives after a job loss. Many also come from military families. The students at our school really want to make good choices and we have a staff that is working to help guide students. Our staff continually goes above and beyond to help their students. The school is based on the idea that we are all part of the same team, and we work towards helping all students. Almost 100 percent of certified staff work as mentors during their personal time to give students who need extra help the attention they need, whether it is an academic or a personal need. We are working hard to make sure our students are prepared for the future.

My Project

There is more to education than books! Often we forget about other areas that are vital to a student. This applies to sports in schools. This is pointed out by Crystal VanTassel, a Play Ambassador for Let’s Play.

"Not only are sports fun and exciting, but they also provide camaraderie among kids.

Have you ever thought of the many benefits of playing team sports? Besides being a ton of fun and a great way to stay active, participation in sports helps kids build social and teamwork skills."

Students learn better when they are active, and their overall health is improved. In addition, they learn teamwork and respect for each other. They also learn about following the rules.

This program will also support learning in the classroom. Students need the ability to get physical activity. It also affects their self-perception, which can help their learning.

We just received new basketball goals, and are now working on getting a basketball team and program set up. Our students love after school activities. I am excited to be able to be part of the program.

We are requesting some basketballs for the students to use as they practice. We currently do no have enough for them to use. This will allow the students to develop their skills and have fun at the same time.

Thank you for your help.
