This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our second grade class in the South Bronx is part of the NYC Horizon Program, a specialized program in NYC community schools specifically for students on the Autism Spectrum. As a Special Education Teacher I believe that no student can learn if they internal sensory system is not regulated. Many students need to have opportunities to wiggle in ways that can help the remain active but still engage in the lessons for the day. Help give my students flexible seating options as they begin to learn how to be self-advocates and learn how they can modify their own environment to be successful!
