Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students love workshop time, but continuously lose completed work because they accidentally throw it away. Please help my students keep their work organized!
My second graders are mostly English language learners who love to read stories and have stories read to them, which is how many of them learn academic vocabulary needed to achieve in society.
They attend a school with limited resources but yet are very enthusiastic when it comes to participating in their own learning.
My Project
My students are mostly enthusiastic about sharing their work during Reader's and Writer's Workshop. These are times during the day when they share their favorite moments in their chapter books or their most recent original narrative. The storage compartments, file folder organizers and index card organizer will help my students maintain their Response to Literature and other written assignments organized instead of it being jumbled inside their desks.
Many of my students have to share a bedroom with one or two family members and do not have the luxury of their own drawer or closet space.
Because of this, my students do not really have the opportunity to call a space their own. The storage units and organizers will help my students keep their work orderly and free from wrinkles and tears, something they can be proud of.
