My students need two Sony on-ear headphones to block out noise and help us focus on stories when we use eReaders.

My Students

Who would put the speech therapy classroom next to the band room? Well, space is tight at our school. Sometimes it's so loud we have to find another place to work. We need help staying focused and hearing clearly especially when the band is practicing.

My students are funny, charming, delightful 6th-12th graders with speech and language challenges.

Many also have trouble maintaining attention and get distracted easily. Some are English language learners from Cape Verde, Haiti, Vietnam, The Dominican Republic, and China. Learning language is essential for my students to become independent and successful adults. The read aloud function on the eReader would be so much more helpful if we could only hear!

My Project

These headphones will help us focus, get lost in narratives, acquire new vocabulary, and listen with increased clarity and without distraction. A quiet environment is not a luxury. Background noise has been shown to interfere significantly with learning. This equipment will reduce background noise and enhance our eReading experience.

We can't always have a quiet environment.
