My Students
My students are an energetic and enthusiastic group of 5th graders! By the end of the year, I would like to see them grow as reader, writers, speakers and listeners, but also in their ability to interact kindly and thoughtfully.
My students come from all over Brooklyn and can't wait to get to school.
Many are of Russian descent and speak Russian at home with their families. My school is a wonderful and happy place where teachers feel supported and respected. Teachers are partners in decision-making, and there is a (rightful!) assumption of competence by the administration. It is a wonderful place to work.
My Project
My students will certainly use the post-its (the super-sticky ones really last longer on the student-created or co-created posters we make) and the dry erase markers which match our school's environmental values. The influx of printer ink will enable me to print copies of documents I can later photocopy for the students, which will put less of a burden on the school's resources and limited printing capacity.
Being able to print what I need to will immediately help my classroom run more efficiently.
Students will also have access to two commonly-used and very helpful resources, which I know we will start using the day the arrive in the school!
