My students need about 30 new books to read for our upcoming themes and for a love of reading. We also need 2 boogie boards, an iPad, and protective gear for our classroom.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom needs right fit books. My goal is to have all of my students reading confidently and being able to be successful in first grade.
Our first grade classroom loves reading books during our reading block.
We love reading with partners, ourselves, and our teacher! My students are all diverse learners who all love learning and being in school. Our school is a low income school and many students don't have access to books or resources at home. My students love hands-on activities and working together to grow their brains.
My Project
Having these leveled books in our classroom will allow for students to work alone, with partners, and in small groups to build confidence and reading fluency. Having leveled books allows for each student to get a "just right book" for their book bin! Having these donations will really improve our classroom. Students all have their own book bins. Because we are a new classroom we have limited supplies, including books. Students need access to books and books that are just right for them in order to grow as readers! In addition, I have requested protective gear for our technology and boogie boards for our daily use during centers. In addition, I requested an iPad so that my students have access to online books.
Having leveled books that are of high interest will make students excited to read!
They love getting a new book in their book bin and having more books in our classroom allows them to have that opportunity!
