My room doesn't have a carpet. I would like to have a new carpet that will last for many years so my students can have a comfortable place to sit.
I have 26 first graders who love to question and learn.
In our school, 57% of the students receive free or reduced price meals. My students come from very diverse backgrounds. Some of them are bilingual and others are learning a new language. They are amazing writers and mathematicians and love doing art and hands on activities.
My Project
I need a new carpet for my room so my students can have a comfortable place to sit while we are doing morning meeting, listening to stories, and working on lessons. Right now we just have some old rubber mats. While they keep my students from sitting on the cold bare floor, having a nicer place to sit would make our meeting area a more pleasant space for us to work together.
Do you remember what it was like to sit on a rug and enjoy a story in school?
I want my students to enjoy every portion of our school day. Having a nice comfortable place to sit will make a big difference in their everyday experience.
