This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
One of the amazing things about our school is the fact that our students have the chance to go outside at lunch. Both the junior high and the high school have a lunch period with time out on the front lawn. We have some lawn games along with footballs and soccerballs, but it's been many years since we have updated what is available.
9 Square In The Air is a game that tweens and teens both enjoy, which means it can be appreciated by all of our students.
This game naturally allows students of all levels to have fun while also mixing up students; once a student gets out, they are in a different order in line, meaning they are potentially talking with all of the students participating.
Our plan is to add 9 Square In The Air with the other rotations of lunch opportunities (plus when it's bad weather, it can easily be put up in the gym!). We will also be able to use it for enrichment times, gym activities, and other teambuilding activities. Our gym teachers are also hoping to have this available, especially in the middle school PE classes!
