Help me give my students Teachers Pay Teachers resources and sensory materials such as Magna-Tiles and sensory beads that will help develop their unique ability to learn new information.
My students are the rainbow of my classroom. Although they have difficulties learning, each of them is distinctly unique. Children with special needs require multiple strategies to help them learn new skills. I want to create an enjoyable atmosphere by introducing a space for imaginations to roam free. I am asking for interactive toys such as Magna-Tiles and Royal Kingdom Castle to give my students a fun and collaborative way to socialize, apply critical thinking skills, and learn how fun school can be! As most of my kids are 4 to 5 grade levels below, these materials will help drive instruction and make learning more meaningful.
For my students, the old school approach, "the teacher talks, the student listens" is not how they learn.
My special needs students can benefit from using materials of multiple modalities. For example, items such as the sensory dough beads will assist my students who have a sensory processing disorder. It provides a uniquely calming experience for students on the autism spectrum, while strengthening their fine motor coordination. It is vital to provide my students with a variety of resources to accommodate their learning styles. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will allow me to download supplemental resources needed for my lesson. TPT provides many adapted activities, which are perfect for a special needs population. The building language lotto is a hands-on matching game that can assist my kids to recognize and name tons of everyday words and build classification skills as they play.
